Mining does not have near impact the environmental impact purported by other environmental agencies. Destructive mining practices are a thing of the past in the United States, with government entities such as the EPA, MSHA, USACE, and the Forest Service providing major oversight to eliminate the risk of environmental harm. Tourism is far worse for the environment then mining and ATV rentals being accessible to every tourist causes the range of litter and pollutants in our planet's sacred wilderness to be more widespread.
